Privacy policy

Mnarani Cakes (“we”) bakes and sells cakes from Tatu City, Kiambu County, Kenya. This policy explains what personal information we collect through mnaranicakes.com, why, and your rights under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

What we collect

When you place an order or request a custom cake: your name, phone number, email (optional), delivery or collection choice, delivery area and address, the date you need it, your order details, any message for the cake, and notes you add.
When you request a custom cake: any inspiration photos you upload.

When you contact us on WhatsApp or by phone: what you choose to share with us there.

Why we use it
Only to make and deliver your order: to confirm the design and price with you, arrange payment, bake on time, deliver or hand over your cake, and contact you about your order. We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising.

Who it’s shared with

Our website is hosted on Cloudflare, which stores our order records and photos securely and protects the site from spam and abuse.
If you choose WhatsApp, your messages are handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.

We share delivery details only with whoever delivers your order.

We don’t take card or M-Pesa details on this website.

What’s stored on your device
Your cart and, if you place an order, your name, phone, delivery choice and area are saved in your browser so you don’t have to retype them next time. You can clear them at any time (“Not you? Clear details” at checkout, or by clearing your browser data). We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as needed for the order and our business and tax records. Inspiration photos for requests that don’t become orders are deleted once they’re no longer needed.

Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it (unless we must keep it by law), and you can object to how we use it. To do so, email lenah@mnaranicakes.com or call 0722 996 311. If you’re unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke).

Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page.
